What are the Underlying Causes of your Tinnitus?
Before you know how to cure your Tinnitus, you need to exactly the causes of your Tinnitus. Without knowing the causes of your Tinnitus, it is impossible for you to cure it. If you have been searching around for a cure, you will hear many people saying that there is no cure for Tinnitus. However, there are also many people who have recovered from their Tinnitus.
Why is it so?
Well, most of the time Tinnitus is a complicated problem and there are different causes for Tinnitus. For example, if you are down with a bad flu (maybe a bronchitis), and you are treating it with a medication or drug that relieve another kind of flu, do you think your flu can be cured?
That applies to Tinnitus as well. Only when you know exactly what causes your Tinnitus, you are able to treat it with the right treatment, remedies, or even cure.
To do so, you can do a simple diagnosis on your body and try to find out exactly what is wrong. Of course, it will be more accurate when you visit an ENT specialist for a proper checkup.
These are 3 common causes of your Tinnitus -
- Ear Damage – Ear damage could include cochlear damage, hearing losses, or even ear infections. Most ear damage are caused by loud noises, a blow on the head, or even due to virus infections in the ear. Depending on the extent of the ear damage, it may not be easy for one to treat Tinnitus completely.
- Negative Emotions – Negative emotions like stress, panic, anxiety, depression and emotional illness could be some of the causes for Tinnitus. This is also known as SPADE. Emotional distress could be due to many reasons and for some people, it requires a change in mindset, attitudes and even perspective in life. With Tinnitus haunting these patients, their conditions get worse and it become a vicious cycle.
- Sinus Infections – Mucous that accumulates with chronic sinus infections would affect the pressure in the inner ear, and this would lead to Tinnitus. Think about it, our ears and nose are linked together. Whenever we blow our nose, our ears can feel the pressure. Hence in this case, to cure Tinnitus, you want to get rid of your chronic sinus infections.
Once you know the underlying causes of your Tinnitus, you are able to treat it from the root cause and not just treating the symptoms.
By now, you should understand the importance of finding out the underlying causes of your Tinnitus. But sometimes going for a checkup doesn’t mean that you will know the exact cause. You may need to do a self diagnosis on your own body in order to find out the underlying causes. We know our own body the best.
Holistic Tinnitus Treatments
Tinnitus is often a symptom rather than the actual problem – It could be a sign that your health is in trouble. To completely eliminate Tinnitus, you would require more than just the drugs which often only temporarily relieve the symptom. A better way to get rid of the Tinnitus in the long run is to follow a holistic tinnitus treatment.
Here is a simplified version of a holistic tinnitus treatment that you can follow.

Tinnitus may not be a direct consequence of a poor diet, but definitely having a healthy diet would improve our body’s natural ability to heal itself. However, do note that the “healthy” diet that we are taught is not healthy. For example, dairy products and meat are not healthy choices and therefore should not be included in your diet.
———————————————————————————————————-
Regular exercise is a critical part in treating tinnitus. When we are out exercising, our ears are exposed to the natural sound in the environment. This would significantly reduce the ringing sound in the ears. It can also help in reducing our stress level.
———————————————————————————————————-
Being happy and feeling great about ourselves can help us in keeping our SPADE down. The negative emotions may be the cause of hearing the ringing in the ears. Certain events like death of a spouse, divorce, loss of job can affect our emotions dramatically and the Tinnitus may go out of control.

Remedies/Cures
Some remedies or cures work for one but not for the other. Again, it is about knowing what are the root cause of your Tinnitus. For example, a person lacking of blood flow in the ear would find that Gingko Biloba relieve the ringing much more effectively than someone who is suffering from depression-induced Tinnitus.
When tinnitus is a symptom or caused by another medical condition or illness, the treatment is focused on the treatment of that particular disease. For example, when tinnitus is caused by aneurysm or a brain tumor, treating these conditions first will also yield to the treatment of tinnitus.
When tinnitus becomes an irreparable disability, masking the irritating noise with normal environmental sounds can help alleviate the problem. Some people may find it hard to sleep because of the hissing or buzzing sound associated with tinnitus. The sound of a radio may help the person to have that good night sleep.
Tinnitus Prevention
Prevention is still the best treatment for tinnitus. Since this abnormal hearing condition can be irreparable. It is best to take utmost care of our ears to avoid tinnitus. Keeping the ear clean and free of ear wax largely helps in the prevention of tinnitus. A person must carefully clean the ear and avoid hitting the nerves and other sensitive parts of the ears.
Avoiding caffeine as well as smoking and drinking alcohol will help in alleviating the tinnitus. Watching your diet, especially your salt intake is a must. Salt builds up fluid in your ears that can cause and worsen tinnitus.
Aspirin is believed to also cause and worsen tinnitus. Avoid the intake of too much aspirin or find other anti-inflammatory medications if you already have tinnitus. Moreover, changes in the blood flow in the ear can cause tinnitus. Massaging the areas behind and on the ears or applying a hot compress may help increasing the blood flow.
Avoiding loud and noisy environments is part of the prevention in the development of tinnitus. Wearing some form of protection and minimizing noise levels are only some precautions that you can apply. Noise is prevalent in everyday situations, so keep earplugs at hand.
It is important that we take care of our ears for these are vital body parts that we use everyday. Our hearing plays a big role in our everyday activities. It is best to go and see a licensed physician when you are hearing irritating noises in your ear that others cannot hear.

It is almost 30 years since it was diagnosed that I am having reasonable hearing loss. It became worse with passage of time. Lately the hearing loss became very acute. Along with that I started having Tinnitus also. At times the buzzing sound becomes very loud and at times less. I consulted an ENT surgeon who after audiometry and Tympanometry tests decided on Stapedectomy surgery. After surgery though hearing has improved a lot, almost normal, but Tinnitus continues. What should I do to cure Tinnitus ?

I’ve had tinnitus for 2 and a half years now. I’m averaging 4.5 hours sleep a night. I’m always tired, have become highly strung. My wife asked me to leave 7 weeks ago I have a 2, 4 and 6 y.o. I can’t do noise. My ears have become so sensitive. The only time the ringing has stopped was when I was in bed with the flu. Can you help?

I have had the ringing in my ears since I was about 13 years old. I was injured while playing football with my friends in the schoolyard. A friend fell on my head while I was on the ground. I was diagnosed with a concussion but not mention of tinnitus. There are times when the ringing is worse and it most difficult to deal with when it is quiet and no background noise to mask the ringing. being around loud noises also makes the ringing worse. I have not found any particular diet or pill that makes the ringing less noticeable. There are times that I find the ringing maddening and it is impossible to concentrate on anything. I continue to search for relief!

My tinnitus has been bad for about 3 years. I am posting this because I want to help people. This has helped my tinnitus. I have been taking klonopin 1 mg usually around 1 to 2 a day. I have found out that taking 2 benadryl before going to sleep does something to my tinnitus . I use just no name brand. I wake up the next morning with the ringing almost gone.
Good luck and Tinnitus can be overcome. also I use a App on Itunes called chillout and I put it on Indonesian rainforest and it masks it the best for going to bed or just put it on while at work. GodBless
